Hi! I am Taryn and I am a graduate student in the Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) program at Louisiana State University. Join me this summer as I explore the libraries, archives, museums, and special collections of Edinburgh and London in the "Libraries of the UK" study abroad program with LSU.

In Edinburgh you can expect site visits to the Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse (the King's official residence in Edinburgh), and the National Museum of Scotland.

Highlights in London include tours of the British Library, Globe Theatre, the Maughan Library at Kings College, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the British Museum, the London Library and much, much more.

I am also very excited for the day trips to Bath, Stonehenge, Oxford, and Cambridge. I'll be sure to share other fun and exciting UK experiences on this blog.

Oh yes, I will be researching and writing a paper about the Sutton Hoo grave goods from the Anglo-Saxon ship burial discovered in the last century in Britain that are housed in the British Museum. There will be more on that topic later, but in the meantime here is a photo of the famous helmet:

See you in July! Let's get this UK adventure started!
